Updated Form I-9 Now Available

A new Form I-9 was released on August 1, 2023. After October 31, 2023, the prior version of Form I-9 will be obsolete and no longer valid for use.

Form I-9 is used to document verification of the identity and employment authorization of employees (both citizen and noncitizen) to work in the United States. Starting November 1, 2023, employers who fail to use the 08/01/23 edition of Form I-9 may be subject to all applicable penalties, as enforced by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The edition date is listed at the bottom of the form and instructions.

The I-9s you already have on file for current employees will remain valid. Employers must complete the updated Form I-9 for new employees.
