Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at PPG Partners! We hope you and your family have a safe and joyous holiday, however you may be celebrating.

We're not gamblers at PPG, but if we were, we might wager that you don't know the following Turkey Day facts:

- If you're headed to Canada for the holiday or have friends or family in Canada who are celebrating, you can bring one turkey (either fresh, frozen or chilled) that weights up to 20 kilograms into the country duty-free. But if it weights more than that, you'll have to pay a duty on it.

- An employer is allowed to gift a turkey to their employee(s) without any taxable issues to the employee(s). However, if the employer wants to give their employee(s) a gift certificate to purchase a turkey, this would become taxable income to the employee(s).

- Your traditional Thanksgiving dinner fixings (turkey, potatoes, cranberries, pumpkin pie... need we continue?) are not taxable in most states. So eat up!

- But beware... depending on the state, your beloved Craisins may be subject to sales tax, if the state sees them as candy. Our take on it? Still worth it!

Happy Thanksgiving!
